The Book Foundation Impact
Since 2014, The Book Foundation program has given away more 600,000 books to more than 150,000 young people and installed more than 17 Book Nooks.
Some examples of our impact:
Our partner at The Children’s Bureau reports that since the installation of our Book Nook concept they have seen a dramatic increase in the percentage of parents reading to their children multiple times per week.
Prior to our book nook installation only 22% of parents read to their children at least five days per week. This past year, 46% of parents read to their children at least five times per week.
From Project Joy :
Our youth after school students really enjoy the books and library in our community home. Most importantly they are able to create their own home library and report reading more often.
Children & families reported having more enjoyment in reading. Children & families also reported seeing improved grades after improved access to books.
Stats from the J3 FoundationLA
The J3 Cozy Reading Club, on average, increased students’ standardized assessments scores by 36 points.
On average, students exceeded (iReady’s) expected reading growth by 57%.
